Studio Playground fosters individual growth for children in our community using the performing arts to promote empowerment, acceptance & individuality. We believe all children deserve opportunities for creative enrichment and social-emotional learning benefits which are derived from arts education programs. Lacking access to programs that build confidence and social awareness deprives children of essential elements for healthy development. Laughter and performing arts entail benefits which transcend socioeconomic status and cultural differences. Studio Playground supports students in their individual growth and inspires audiences to engage in meaningful discourse by enacting our core values: inclusivity, empowerment, and social change.
We are proud to partner with organizations that share our commitment to providing access to arts education and creating a positive social impact through performance. Our partners in Rhode Island and Massachusetts include the Boys and Girls Club of Providence, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rhode Island, Boston Children’s Museum, Providence Children’s Museum, Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, Cambridge Public Schools, Moses Brown School, Jacqueline Walsh School for the Arts, Rocky Hill Country Day School, and the American Alliance for Theatre and Education.
Studio Playground teaches classes for all ages based in movement and physical acting. Classes explore the health and social benefits of laughter through performance and playful improvisation. Our parterships include after-school programs, guest classes, and professional development workshops. Upcoming programs include weekly classes in Providence, our theater camp with Moses Brown School, our summer camp in Lincoln Woods State Park, and after-school programs across Rhode Island.
